This is what I woke up to on Saturday morning:
After nearly passing out {ahem. I claim I got up too quick when I heard her screaming and sobbing...},
I rushed us out to the ER.
The culprit?
An allergic reaction--the doc said it was from an insect from the looks of it.
We're home and she is on steroids and Benadryl.
I'm just praying that it looks much, much better very soon!
Awww! Poor little girl!!! Hope the swelling has gone down - I am sure it was scary for you!
ReplyDeleteOh, how awful for both of you! I hope the drugs work quickly and that she's all back to normal soon!
ReplyDeletePoor girl that must be scary!
ReplyDeleteAww poor girl. That would've given me quite the scare. Glad it's nothing too serious though.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Poor girl! Hope she feels better soon!
ReplyDeletePoor little pumpkin! And what a crummy way to start your day!
ReplyDeleteOH, my goodness, Chelle! How awful! I would have totally freaked out if my child woke up like that. So glad it's nothing more serious and I'm hoping tomorrow she is much, much better. Poor darling! Poor mama! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteOh man, that looks like it hurts, poor girl. I'm so glad it's nothing serious. Love to you all. xoxo
ReplyDeleteAww. That is how various body parts look when I have been stung by a bee.
ReplyDeleteOh my! That is very scary! I hope that everything is better now!
ReplyDeletepoor baby! hope she gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteYeah - that definitely would have me worried. I hope she gets to feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteoo no poor girl!! I hope she is feeling better soon :-)
ReplyDeleteMy son woke up this morning with the same thing..on his left eye though. I took him to urgent care & it looks like a spider bite. Hope our kids feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh no...I hope that the swelling has gone down...hate to see little ones hurting so much!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, poor baby. I remember when that would happy to me as a kid. fun times!
ReplyDeleteoh - poor girl!! I hope she's feeling better very soon!
ReplyDeletePoor baby!
ReplyDeleteOhhh...I hope she is doing better!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I would have freaked too. Poor thing. I'm sure it will be much better soon. :)
ReplyDeleteoh honey!! i can't even imagine what i would have done!!! hoping she is back to her old self today!!
ReplyDeletePoor thing...I bet it's all better now! Right before Iz turned 2, she had something very similar happen. It freaked me out as well, but it didn't seem to bother her one bit.
ReplyDeleteOuch! I've had this a few times. Benedryl always works for me.
ReplyDeleteI get it from wasps and spiders. Luckily I rarely get bit in the eye. Sheesh.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, hope she is better now!!
ReplyDeleteWhen my youngest son was around 3 he was outside playing with his brothers. When they came inside I noticed that he had been bitten by something. I'm allergic to most things that sting so I thought perhaps he had gotten a couple of mosquito bites because he had some large whelps.
ReplyDeleteThe next morning, his stomach was so swollen you couldn't see his belly button at all. He had red streaks running up his belly. His hand was three times the size of the other one. Not. even. kidding.
We took him to the ER. The doc said he didn't know what had stung him, some sort of arthropod for sure, but it could have been anything from ants to bees to a spider. He wasn't sure.
His advice, you know, besides the super duper antibiotics that cost a small fortune and the steroids? Make my child wear long sleeves and long pants with shoes and socks at all times while playing outside.
I LIVE IN FLORIDA. They won't give children epi pens for insect allergies. The only thing they prescribe them for is peanut allergies, even though each time you get stung with allergies the reactions typically get worse.
Ugh! Hope she feels better soon!
