Infantino Sync Carrier

I have been searching for a baby carrier for quite some time and I am starting to think that my list of requirements is what is making it so difficult for me to pick a carrier.

First and foremost on my list is safety. I realize that is a given for all of us as parents, but you would be surprised at how many carriers are not worn safely.

My second requirement is comfort. Not just for me, but for Brynlie as well. Carriers that pull on my back and shoulders won't do me any good. I have a 4 year old, a 2 year old and a 6 month old--I must have all of my muscles working properly in order to keep up with these three while out and about.

And my final (personal) requirement? Cute. It must be something cute.

When I pulled my Infantino Sync Carrier out of the package I was both excited and confused. Excited because this was the type of carrier that I had just been looking at. Confused because of the straps and where to put what.

After reading the instructions over for quite some time I recruited my husband to assist me. I honestly wasn't comfortable doing this alone for the first few times--and even now that I have had it and used it for a few weeks I am not comfortable using it alone quite yet. You need to be able to pull the straps tight and I still don't think I am at the level in order to do that while holding onto her at the same time.

I loved this carrier for a variety of reasons. The Infantino Sync Carrier met all of my above requirements. Once Brynlie was snug and secured inside I LOVED it. The carrier was extremely comfortable. I have used carriers in the past that killed my back and shoulders. Not true with this one. It is so comfortable and Brynlie was also comfortable.

It's really cute! I love the red and black floral combination. A lot of my clothes are black so it compliments them perfectly.

And finally, most importantly, I could feel and see that Brynlie was secure. She was strapped so tight, but not tight enough to make her fuss and be uncomfortable. I did some squatting, leaning over and walking around with her. She loved it all! Remember to ALWAYS read your instructions first and utilize any videos that the baby carrier may come with. Your baby's safety is the most important thing always.

Infantino Test Drive Mom!

I am honored to tell you that I have been chosen by Mom Central as an Infantino Test Drive Mom! As a lover of Infantino products I am more than honored to have been chosen for this campaign.

Having three little ones at home with one being just over two months old, I am always searching for great toys and original products. These products aren't just for my girls, but it also helps when a friend or family member finds out that they are expecting. One brand that I have grown to love is Infantino. Their Comforting Play line incorporates both fun and quiet alertness, an important part of infant development. Brynlie (as well as my other girls) can get overstimulated very quickly. I am sure other moms out there can agree that there are times when nothing in particular can cause their child to go into complete meltdown mode which is where Comforting Play comes into terms.

Included in this collection are teethers, wrist and ankle buddies, crib toys, soothing hand squeezies, crib toys, tag along chimes and much more. I highly recommend this entire line if you are expecting or know someone who is expecting or adopting an infant. The Comforting Play Collection is definitely soothing and has a very calm effect. Brynlie and I love the entire collection!

It's hard to pick a top favorite, but I'm really loving the Soothing Hand Squeezies. Leo called them Brynlie's little boxing gloves, ha! These are a brilliant idea. You place them on the baby's hands and in our case it was within a minute or so that Brynlie calmed down as you can see in the picture below.

Teething Relief...

My poor, poor Madelyn has been teething and teething lately. I swear, it's almost as if every time I turn around and look in her mouth there is another tooth working its way through and making my babe miserable. Teething wasn't a problem for Maddie until her molars started coming int.


Since then we've had crying, lots of sleepless nights, bleeding gums and all around just not feeling good. It breaks my heart that I can't just take away her pain and I find myself hoping that the next tooth will make it's way through and have her feeling like her normal, chipper self.

I felt out of sorts at first, not knowing what I could do. So many products out there failed in comforting her. Until I tried Annable Karmel's Fill & Freeze Puree Pops. Serious genius! I had a feeling that these would work for a couple of reasons, the first being that they're frozen. Coldness on sore, teething gums? I had a feeling that it would be a perfect answer to my girl's teething woes. The second reason I thought this would work was that she would be eating something yummy therefore (hopefully) her mind would be taken off how miserable her mouth felt.


I visited her site and browsed for a yummy and healthy recipe. She has such a variety of recipes to choose from! I highly recommend that you check some of them out. I found a recipe for Traffic Light Ice Lollies. Instead of the honey I used 100% fruit juice (we didn't have any honey on hand!). They turned out wonderfully! Madelyn loved them--and I loved them that they were a nutritious and soothing special treat for my girl.


So my advice for teething (if your little one is older)? Get the Fill & Freeze Puree Pops from Annabel Karmel--it will make your life a lot easier and make your little one a happy little camper while getting relief from those painful gums!

When You Decide to Make Your Baby's Food...

When I gave birth to Isabella I felt flustered a lot of the time. There seemed to be an abundance of this or that scenarios. Breastfeed or bottle feed? Cloth or disposable diapers? Scented baby products or organic, all natural products? Buy baby food or purchase it? For a first time mom I almost felt over my head!


Then came Madelyn almost two years later. While I knew ahead of time what worked best for my family and for me, I still struggled on the baby food aspect. Sure, I would love to make my own baby food, but would I be able to do it with Isabella here, too?


In the end I decided to make Madelyn some of the foods that she ate. Whether it was mashed bananas, pureed fruit, or pureed vegetables that she refused to eat if purchased already pureed. Lucky for me I worked in dietary nutrition when I was in the Air Force--so foods at different textures came so easy to me!


Now with baby number three due to make their debut in May I am more sure than ever to try and make as many of their foods that I can. What makes it even easier? I have discovered Annabel Karmel's fabulous line of all things to making your own baby food even easier! When they arrived in the mail I couldn't believe it--there were so many amazing products that I fell in love with.

One of my favorites is the Mash & Serve Bowl. Do you know how much time I spent mashing up potatoes, bananas, green beans, etc with a fork? I had the bowl sliding around and it wasn't exactly the quickest approach possible.


The Mash & Serve Bowl makes mashing up your little one's foods a snap! It comes with a bowl and a handy masher--all you have to do is place whatever food you want to mash up in the bowl and start mashing away. No more crummy fork method for this momma--I can't wait to show Leo this, I'm pretty sure he's going to love it, too.

Infantino Flip Carrier Review

Having two little ones can be extremely difficult to maneuver when about and about running errands, grabbing a bite to eat or attending a play date with friends. There are times that I don't mind bringing the double stroller, but it's so heavy and big that I try to only bring when absolutely necessary!

One of the items that I love using with Madelyn is my Infantino Flip Carrier. It's a huge lifesaver--and so comfortable! The Flip Carrier can be worn in a variety of different ways. Forward facing, outward facing or you can use it as a backpack carrier. Made for babies weighing 8 lbs all the way to 32 lbs. I'm disappointed that Madelyn is getting close to the max weight, but happy that we still have a few months ahead of use, especially with Leo leaving for his deployment soon.

The fabric that the Flip Carrier is made out of is very comfortable. It's made out of a soft mesh material and is padded to provided extra comfort. The flap can be buttoned down which I love for Madelyn to be able to look out of. It comes with an attachable bib to use if you have a drooler or a baby that is still in the spit up stage. As Infantino says the Flip Carrier "is a flippable, flexible, breathable little wonder" which I agree with 100%!

Infantino Fold & Go Bouncer and Twist & Fold Gym

The two awesome products that I'm going to go over today are the Infantino Fold & Go Bouncer and the Twist & Fold Gym. These two items are fantastic--and great for traveling. Whether you are heading over to a grandparent's home, a babysitter's place to get a date night or traveling out of town these are two things that fold up easily and flatten out really well. You won't have to sacrifice any room in the trunk to tote these two along.

First up is the Infantino Fold & Go Bouncer. I put this all together by myself which means that it's not hard to do--at all! I had it put together within 10-15 minutes. I put Madelyn in it {although she is almost at the cut off weight of 25 lbs!} and she had a blast. She is probably a little too old for it, but I am sure if she was a little younger she would have loved it even more. I love how the bendable bar isn't hard--you can move it up and down which is pretty cool. A lot of bouncers have one spot for the bar and it isn't stationary. With this being movable it made it a piece of cake to load her in.

Folding it up is beyond easy! You slide the lever and push in the button. Fold it up and you're done. I love it! This would have been an ideal product for us when we were traveling over the holidays last year--and I recommend this to any mom or dad out there that does a lot {or any} traveling with their infant.

Next up is the Infantino Twist & Fold Gym. I love this gym for the simple fact that it's the easiest thing ever to set up and put away. With the Twist & Fold Gym I can fold it up and keep it stored away until Madelyn wants to play with it. It isn't just sitting there being in the way 24/7 which is a HUGE bonus in my book.

There is a mirror, different musical attachments, rattles and toys that you attach where you would like them. The colors are bright and fun which really engaged Madelyn while she played with the toys. She loved it!

I loved the toys this month--and I know in the future if a friend or sister gets pregnant that these toys will be a huge hit and a great buy for the baby. We love Infantino!
