Holiday Hangover.

It's official.  I have a holiday hangover.

All year long From September-ish to Christmas Eve I am obsessed with the holidays.

First there is Labor Day.

Halloween.

Thanksgiving.

Christmas.

It's like all of my favorites are thrown into a few months--we have the bbq's, the candy, the food, the sweets, the shopping...

And then?

It's all over.  Done.  Finished.

Boo. Dislike. Suckage.

I can't believe it's all over?!

What the hell happened to the past four months of my life?  Seriously.

So, there you have it.  I'm hungover by the holidays.  And the fact that we drove for 16 hours yesterday.

Yeah, that will wipe any ounce of happiness you have left right off of your radar {for reals--all four of us have been dragging today}.

I know--I'm being such a mope, huh?  Do you go through this whole "holiday hangover" thing, too??

Oh yeah I do! I will keep that Christmas tree up until the end of January and watch Christmas movies that are DVR'd over and over.

Where have I been? When did you makeover your blog? It looks fabulous!

I was all complain-y on my blog today, too! Heh. I too LOVE the holidays - especially Christmas - and I can't believe how fast it went by this year! I totally enjoyed it, so very much, and so did my children, but can you say whiplash? It went by SO FAST! And I get sad after it's all over... I love everything about the holidays!!! And I can't believe you drove for 16 hours... OMG!!!!

I feel the same way - I love Christmas, but it is over so fast!

I think this year I've just been ready for it all to be over with. I know that sounds crazy, and I know next year will be different, but we've just had CRAZINESS in our life.

So, this year... no hangover, just relief. Next year, I'll be moping right along with you! I feel so sad that this year's holidays almost seemed rushed...I need to do MAJOR planning next year.... WAY ahead of time.

I'm actually going to start making Christmas presents in January!

You know what they say the best cure is for a hangover right...more of what caused it...New Year's is this week-- and Valentine's Day is coming up -- only 46 days away :)

Not the same tho LOL!

I actually thought this same thing yesterday because the fire dept. down the street always sells Christmas trees every year and now they are all gone. Such a sad reminder that the holidays are over!! I look forward to them all year and then BOOM! Totally over! Hope that you had a wonderful Christmas...I missed you on here!!

I know exactly what you mean. It's all so anticlimactic. It's over, I'm broke & a lot rounder in the mid-section. Not a good way to start the new year, lol.

I give you mad props for driving 16 hours. The longest I've had to drive is 10 & I was ready to choke everyone in the car. Congrats on making it :)

I do too. It will be weird once we take the tree down in a couple days, but on the other hand, it will be nice not to have tree needles everywhere. :)

I must say that I agree with you!! Though, I am more upset that I have to wait so long for my next vacation day - rather than because all the holidays are over. Oh well...there is always next year!

I am so glad you guys made it home safely! Did you run into any bad weather?

This year Christmas seemed to move at warp speed. I just wanted it all to slow down so I could savor every moment of it. I still have the tree and decorations up because it just doesn't feel like it should be over yet.

We had crappy weather so I think that is part of the reason things just didn't feel quite right...also there is the fact that Josh had to work on Christmas Day/Evening.

I know what you mean. I have no idea where it's gone, either. I think the little ones sucked out everything we had left to remember with!

Well, heres to next year!

I'm feeling the same way! I'm not taking my tree down just yet so that I can enjoy it for a few days more. *lol* That and we jut did a 10 hour trip home and I'm too tired. Now that's nothing like your 16 hour one- you're awesome for that! I was going insane with just ours.

It's a new year baby! SO much to look forward to! I know how you feel. It's a bit of a letdown, but thinking about the fabulous things that the year could have in store helps me!

I know what you mean! Around 5PM today I realized that on Monday, I would be back to my regular work/life schedule... and I got pretty bummed! I know though that there will be plenty of FUN in 2010 - so Happy New Year :)

Well stated.......Tomorrow, Monday, January 4th is going to be a reality check at this house! Up and at 'em at 6 a.m.- back to the so called normal routine. I'm not sure that I like it.......This holiday season has been wonderful, in regards to loafing around. BTW- Valentine's Day is not that far away!

Yes! I am right there with you. Holiday Hangover is a great name for it.

Now I just need to recoup for the boys birthdays this month and in March.
