The Phone Call that Momentarily Has Changed My Life.

Yesterday afternoon was great. We were all exhausted from our beach walk and jaunt in the park. It was a kind of day that I would love to plaster all over the place--except I usually can't stand that crap and decided to play some Bejewelled on the couch instead.

I know, I know--some life, huh?

I was sitting on the couch in fact, open can of Diet Coke aka bestdrinktoeverentermylife. Well, except for wine.

Ahem.

And my phone rings.

Hey Soul Sister
Ain't that mister mister
On the radio, stereo
The way you move ain't fair you know

I look at caller id and see that it's my hair girl. The girl that has made my hair so incredibly happy and beautiful and more importantly? She has made me hair confident.

She is just. that. good.

I answer and get the news that no girl ever, ever wants to hear after she has found someone fabulous to bring life and love back her hair.

She? Is moving.

Upstate.

*Insert sobbing here followed by a glass or two of wine*

I moved my next appointment up just to get in to see her one more time.

I'm sure that I can see someone else at the salon. But it's not her. My hair soul mate.

*Sigh*

So here's to you, oh fabulous one. I know you'll be making so many other heads of hair oh so happy.

Luckies....

I absolutely HATE having to find a new hair dresser. It pisses me off. In fact, my most recent one moved another 20 minutes away from where I was driving to see her (20 mins away) and I am still continuing to see her because I couldn't find another person!!

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry for your loss!

I tried hair dressers closer to my house, but they didn't seem to know what they were doing. I'd rather drive to my old hair dresser and be happy then walk to people who shouldn't be trusted with scissors.

That's terrible - I say once a month you take a Girl's weekend!! :) Drive Upstate and get your hair done! Sorry for your loss - it's so hard to find your hair soul mate.

Oh, noooooo!!!!! That IS tragic. I feel your pain, love. My most favourite hair dresser is not working the day before I leave for Blogher and I don't know WHAT to do!

P.S. LOVE Hey, Soul Sister...

I am so sorry! It is hard to find a good hair stylist. My husband laughs at me but it really is such a personal thing.

I love your ring tone! Now I am going to have that song in my head all day:)

This happened to me a few years ago... it was a sad, sad day for my locks... ;) Hope you find someone else just good (if not better!)

I have had the same hairdresser since I was my younger daughter's age, FOR REAL. I take them to the same place, but to the owner, because she's less expensive. But for my hair, I'll only trust her -- I tried to go cheaper for myself a couple of times, and paid dearly in other ways! (BAD HAIR IS COSTLY!) ;-) I hope you find someone that you will love and trust just as much!

I know how you feel. I had to go through this a couple of years ago when my soul sister :-) left. After a couple of attempts I found someone. Then a couple of months later we find out we are moving. Talk aout torture! It will work out - don;t worry!!

Oh no! I don't know what I would do if my hair guy moves. He has made getting my hair appointments such a quick and enjoyable experience. The man can seriously cut/style hair faster than anyone I have ever seen and it looks awesome. I also feel trendy since my hair stylist is a guy. Ha!
