Whatever Happened....

To sleepovers?

You know...

The ones where you would eat pizza, chips, candy, ice cream, drink Dr. Pepper, make milkshakes and stuff your face with so much junk that you honestly thought that you may possibly die from a sugar induced coma.

The ones where you would watch movies like Dirty Dancing, Footloose, Can't Buy Me Love, Teenwolf, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and The Goonies.

The ones where you would listen to your favorite songs--New Kids on the Block, MC Hammer, Milli Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, Cathy Dennis.

The ones where you would gossip until the sun came up--about who was dating who, who your newest crush was, who was crushing on you.

The ones where you would fix your hair, your makeup, dress up or just dress silly.

The ones where you would giggle endlessly about anything and everything.

The ones where your parents would come in at 5 in the morning to ask you kindly tell you for the 100th time to please. go. to. bed. already!

The ones where you would stuff backpacks full of toilet paper to go and tp the house of an unsuspecting neighbor.

I truly hope my daughters have memories like me... and for the record....

Can moms have a sleepover? Could you imagine the fun, the laughs, the adult beverages?

I think it would be a blast...what do you think?

Ooh, I would loooove a mommy sleepover. My friends and I have an annual girls weekend and I look forward to it all.year.long. If only we could plan sleepovers on a semi-regular basis.

Awe, that made me miss it soooo much. You never appreciate something like that until it's long LONG gone.

P.S. I LOVED Can't Buy Me Love. One of my favorite 80s movies for sure. That white leather skirt and fringe leather jacket was kick ass. Or was it suede?

With all the movies you listed, I think I'm coming to YOUR sleepover! (**LOVE** Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!!!)

Some mom friends and I pulled off a retreat last May, and we all stayed in a vacation home for a night. Lots of karaoke, cards, and snacks -- and TONS of laughing! It was *so* fun and I think all moms need to RETREEEAAAT now and then! :-D

You brought me back!

Now I get too tired for sleep overs (Those 5:30am work wake-ups). Each January, sister-in-law goes one weekend to a spa with her friends. They get two sleep over nights that way.

Oh my gosh, that would be so much fun! We are obviously near the same age, b/c everything you said was dead on for me!!

My daughter had a sleepover last night & it did NOT do justice to the sleepovers I had as a kid. But then again, she was the one with the attitude. :)

One of these times, when she's behaving, I'll have to do it up right for her. :)

Moms can totally have sleepovers. What time shall I and my sleeping bag come over?

Oh, I used to love sleepovers...remember the silly games you'd play, like "light as a feather, stiff as a board..."

I'd love it if I could still go to those...
