Remind Me Again...

Why I sometimes get these "great" ideas? Lol! Today Leo came home sick from work. Poor guy :( He has an upper respiratory infection and the doc gave him lots of good meds to clear it up. Anyhow, I have been wanting to make homemade cinnamon rolls for some time now. I found a recipe online at this website I visit weekly. Well, they were nowhere as good as what my mom used to make! That is for sure! Leo loves them, but I'm not so crazy about them. Honestly they didn't take too long to make, but I just don't know. I was planning on freezing some for when our families get here this weekend for Bella's baptism, but I am just going to have Leo take them to work--they aren't up to my standards to serve to the ones I love--lol! I wish I liked them more :( I was soooo excited to make Leo and our families some yummy homemade rolls! Oh, well, next time I will look for my mom's recipe (which I do have somewhere!!) and try those out...think I will wait until next winter, though..

Other than that, we are all doing great! I took a nice long walk this morning--Leo offered to watch Bella while I did that. Curious to see how long I walked, though...I am thinking over a mile! I felt great afterwards, that is for sure. I think I have just been so couped up lately and was just in one of those mid-winter moods for a few days...I know you all have felt like that before, right?? It was cloudy today but it was almost 60 degrees when Bella and I woke up at 6:45 this morning! It was nice to wake up to some warmer temps today!

Hope e'one is doing great and we can't wait to see e'one who will be coming this weekend. We will miss e'one who cannot make it, though. We love you all and know you will be here in spirit.

Until next time, have a wonderful day!

I've Seen Better Days....

Have you ever had one of those days....where e'thing just seems like it's falling apart? Ever since Bella got her shots it has been a little crazy around here!

Let me start w/her stats from the appt. She now weighs 13 lbs 4 oz and is 24 3/4" long. She is a tall little girl! According to the growth chart she is 50-75 percentile for weight, but the doctor said she looked wonderful and is right on track. She also mentioned Bella is one strong little girl! Which I know she is, she loves moving and playing, so I am really proud of her! She does have a blocked tear duct, which is what I have suspected all along. The doctor wants us to bring her in the next time it is red--which it was this morning, but of course they are closed until Tuesday--and that's assuming we would get in on Tuesday. So, we'll see.

Bella really didn't understand why her mommy and daddy made her get the shots...she was so upset and in pain, it absolutely broke my heart to see my little girl hurting. She had a low grade temp for a couple of days, but nothing major. She has been pretty fussy, though, so I know she still isn't feeling great. Her sleep hasn't been too well, either, so hopefully in a couple of days she will be sleeping a lot better!

Leo has a cold now, so he has been pretty out of it today. Poor guy, he is taking meds but they aren't really helping. He does have a little cough, so if it isn't better by Tuesday he is going to see the doc to see if they can prescribe him something better than an OTC med.

I am doing alright, my eczema has been really bad on my hand lately--from washing all these dishes! lol--so I may just make an appt, too, to get some better meds for it...it feels like chicken pox 24/7! Other than that, just pretty tired lately, I just need to try and squeeze in a nap when Bella starts sleeping better! :)
Hope you enjoy the pics above! Until next time, bye!

Yay! It's Wednesday!!

Hi, everyone...hope ya'll are doing great. Well, as promised, I made the pizza last nite...and it was so good! We had a kind of emergency situation, though...Last week I bought us some pizza sauce (glass jar...not good!). After I made the crust last nite and was letting it rise I started to get the rest of my ingredients together...reach into the cabinet for the sauce and ewwww!! The lid had gotten dented (probably from the ride home!) and there was a white substance growing...needless to say I did not use that sauce. Leo had to run to the store to go get some since that was our only jar. It ended up tasting really good and I am proud of making my own crust! Here is the recipe as promised:

1 pkg quick rise yeast
1 c lukewarm water
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 1/2 c of flour
1 tbsp honey (we didn't add it, but I think I will try it next time)

Mix yeast and water. Add all other ing and mix by hand. Let rise 5-10 minutes (I placed mine on top of the warm oven, worked wonderfully). Flatten on a greased pizza pan, place desired toppings on top. Bake at 400 degrees for ~12 minutes.

See, I told ya that it was easy!

On to bigger and better things, Bella has learned how to grasp the music player on her pink bouncer chair! So she can play music all the time now by herself!! What a BIG girl!! She hasn't quite mastered the farm chair, although she loves the other toys on that one more! On her pink chair she rips off the dragonflies and drops them on the floor...you put them back on and whadda you know...there they are on the floor again! Ha! I'm not sure if I have mentioned this, but she can roll over from tummy to back and she LOVES to laugh! Just like her mommy, I have a natural giggler :) You can do the silliest things and she absolutely cracks up! Ah, how I love my little girl. She has *almost* rolled over from back to tummy as well...she gets onto her side and plops back over, but we are almost there!! She also loves playing the airplane game with mommy, she giggles and smiles the entire time. Leo and I feel so blessed to have her as our child. Please keep us in your prayers tomorrow as she is getting her 1st set of shots. I am really nervous, but know it is for the best.

Hope all had a wonderful Wednesday and until then, bye!

Today is a Good Day

Good morning! Hope e'one is all rested and ready to take on another day....I know I am pretty rested, Bella has been sooo good about sleeping through the night, which is a huge relief!

I am afraid to say, but her eye is looking irritated again. This is the same eye with the clogged tearduct. Poor baby...I had a dream last night that her eye was irritated again, and what do you know! Her appointment is on Thursday for her well-baby, so if it doesn't get any worse before then we will wait to take her in. It's not near as bad as it was, so that's good...part of me just thinks I am so paranoid and over-analyzing "the eye"...

I have my list of things I need to do today...I don't know what it is about our family and lists! Leo HATES lists where I know that mom, Kristi (sister) and I cannot live without lists! It a little obsessive on my part...for example...the other day we had to go to the store for a few things. I told Leo to write it all down-we are notorious for forgetting things!-he rolled his eyes and couldn't believe that I was making a list for the 4 things. Long story short, we get to the store and (smirking) he asks for the "list"...oh, no! I forgot my list!!! He thought this was hysterical, but you know what? We did forget something! So in the end I still felt the list was a neccisity!

Going to try and post a few pics from yesterday....I need a new camera. Why do you ask? Well, I have hardly any pics of Bella smiling! Ahh!!! Our camera has a red light that goes off as your taking the pics and she gets mesmerized by this light which = no baby smile, just that shocked look! I am trying to talk Leo into it, so please, by all means, wish me luck! I think he is beginning to see all the pics without smiles and is starting to understand...

Hope ya'll have a great day, I know we will. Going to make pizzas for dinner-we always make our own. It's something different we can do and doesn't take too much time. I usually buy store crust but ran into a real easy homemade crust recipe and am going to give it a shot. If it works I'll be sure to post it. Wish me luck!

Officially Hooked!

I am officially hooked on blogging! I have been blogging on another site and have gotten HOOKED! Exactly what I need...another hobby !

Isabella and I had quite the uneventful day today. Yesterday her eye was really bothering her and it was entirely red. Great, she has pinkeye, was my first thought. So this morning when Leo was leaving for work I told him to remember to make her appoitment as the appointment line opens precisely at 7. As I was grumbling to myself that I KNEW it was still red, I decided to wake her up to make sure. Well, she was not very happy about getting woke up this early (6:30 to be precise...). As she opened her eyes-magic!-her eye was white again! NO more pinkness! I cannot tell you how happy I was about this...she is only 3 months old and has yet to be sick *knocks on wood*. She goes to get her shots on Thursday and I really hated having to take her to the doctor 2 times in one week!

I didn't even cook dinner tonight! Leo came home and made us breakfast for supper...yummy! That is my favorite dinner that he makes. It's rare that he wants b for s so I soaked up this rare treat.

It's starting to get late and I need to get some things done, so for now, good bye and welcome to my blog!
