Stocking Stuffer

For the past few days I've been particpating in a FUN stocking stuffer party!  It's filled with goodies from Chrissy and Mellisa--and I actually won a kickoff giveaway {yummy room spray and a candle!}.

Today we were promped on who stuffs our stockings.  Let me tell you--I LOVE the stocking stuffers.  From Halloween up until Christmas Eve I keep my eyes alert and ready to find the best stocking stuffers for the family.

I have been doing okay this year--for Isabella I have a movie, Christmas Jelly Belly's, a book, a miniature See-n-Say.  For Maddie I have formula and diapers.  Ha!  I'm kidding...she has a bunch of teethers and rattles so far.  I'll add some fun candies to Bellie's stocking and maybe some new pacis to Maddie's.  I really need to step up my game...I feel like I am falling further and further behind as Christmas is sneaking up closer and closer...

For Leo I have no clue.  I think I have asked you all for suggestions for the impossiblemantobuyfor about a dozen times or so.  I'm thinking a movie, some nuts and chocolate covered coffee beans--he is addicted to them!  But otherwise, who knows what he'll get.  He won't tell me any suggestions for himself....the man is impossible to shop for!

As for me, I've given him lots of ideas.  Giftcards to Tarjay, Hobby Lobby.  Some yummy candies.  Coffee.  A new, cute mug.  A good book.  Lip gloss.  A girlie movie.  Anything that will let me "escape" for just a minute or two or three...

I think I love stockings because they are full of surprises!  You never know what you're going to get--and just when you think you're done--you get another surprise that tumbles out.  I love it!

So, tell me, what is on your stocking stuffer wishlist?  Do you fill your own stocking or does your husband surprise you?  What are you giving your sig other/children/pets?  Is anyone giving someone some dreaded coal?

I can't wait to read your answers--maybe I'll get another idea that I didn't think of!

Stockings are the best part. Let's see, I usually pick up small craft things the kids can do(window suction plastic things, bendaroos), pez candy for sure, small games (travel tic tac toe), bubble bath, tooth brush, stickers for the little ones, harmonica. As for hubby, he'll get some paint brushes, an itunes gift card, hair product, an airport bottle of his favorite liquor combo like apple pucker and absolute to make his own apple martini. hmm, guess I need some more stuff for him, now that I think about it. Can't wait to see what others put.

My husband and I don't have kids, so we fill each other's stockings -- and we're not above giving each other toys, like action figures and mini-Lego sets! This year he's getting a Star Trek Enterprise bottle opener from Think Geek for sure. He also likes good chocolate, like Godiva and Lindt, whereas my taste runs to Hershey Kisses! He always puts a gift card or two (usually bookstores) in my stocking. Last year he got me a little Harry Potter sorting hat that you turn over like a magic 8 ball to see what house you're in!

My blog is nothing but stocking stuffer ideas (I do this for fun, not profit, so I'm not trying to sell anything!). I'm running a giveaway of stocking stuffers for men this week, plus there's a category label "for men" so maybe you can find an idea or two! ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving a day early!

Husband and I don't do stockings for each other... though now I'm thinking we should.

as little silly presents for my husband in the past I have bought him scratch cards, an egg cup (he loves boiled eggs), iTunes gift card, post-it notes (he always forgets things)....

-I still need to come up with some more ideas

Sammy: -a little camera.. they boy loves to turn things into cameras ($1 at target months ago)
-set of car keys with buttons on them :-)
-a magnetic Lightning McQueen you can put different magnets on to dress him up
-small puzzle

Stockings really are the best!!

I love to get handmade natural soaps that smell yummy, also big fan of lip balms, glosses and lotions. :)

My parents always put a Christmas Lifesaver book along with mandarin oranges in our stockings when we were kids.

I found a DVD with two ORIGINAL Strawberry Shortcake movies on it for Sophia. I was beyond excited. My husband said that it should really go in my stocking because of how excited I was, LOL!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I always look forward to the stockings at my mom's house. She gets the best stuff!

I also get a stocking from Josh. He usually puts a gift card or candle in it and then fills the rest up with chocolate. This year I am making a request for no candy...seriously trying to watch my weight and that will not help one bit!

I have no idea what Josh will get in his stocking...I better start thinking about that. Carter is getting a movie, some slipper socks, a Disney Cars car, underwear, color tablets for the bath water and a little bit of candy. Funny story about the underwear. I just had to include that because last year he thought one of the games he got was underwear and he was so excited. We were all cracking up over his excitement over underwear. We'll see if he has the same reaction this year...who knows, it might just become a tradition.

My parents stopped doing stockings when we were around 8-ish I think. *lol* It's one thing that I want me and Rich to do when we have kids - I loved looking in my stocking every year. We do try to get the animals something every year, and it's meant to go in their stockings, but we end up putting them under the tree instead. *loL*

I haven't couponed at the commissary yet (it's 30 minutes away), and this past weekend was my first time to do it at Target (and it's 45 minutes away, so we don't go often) and I loved some of the deals we got on stuff. We usually just hit up Walmart since it's a mile from the house, and I'm still saving money, just not as much as if I were going to some other places, but FL has some weird rules on how you can coupon here.

My grandmother knits everyone in the family a stocking which I love but her pattern is very big and sometimes I feel compelled to fill it to the brim like she has done as I've grown up but that's not always possible. This year I'm trying to take a less is more approach and just accept that the stocking probably will not be full.

What a fun idea. I do miss the stocking stuffers for the boys when they were younger. Sounds like you've got some nifty stuff already. I also like your "escape" reference.

Happy escapes and Happy Thanksgiving!

We've done stockings from when I was a small child to now when I have an almost 18 year old son. We save them for very last and it's always a thrill to see just what's in there. One year Jim had cut out a picture of jeans and boots for me because he didn't get to go shopping before that. Another year he cut out a camper trailer and put it in my sons sock because he'd won one on e-bay and we were going to head to Iowa and get it after Christmas. It's hard to fill them at times but I just ordered a book Jim just said he wanted and I know Mike is getting an itouch so will find a few accessories to put in there. Plus the little things like candy, hot wheels (wish cars) and small lego's.
Happy Thanksgiving.

I love having chocolate in my stocking and I love CDs and movies.

For the kids we put toothbrushes in them and we also like to put sippy cups and things that they will use, oh and board books

I LOVE LOVE LOVE stockings!!! Honestly, my husband could definitely use a few pointers, but I do leave it up to him.

For him I stuff it with essentials {deodorant, toothbrush, stuff like that} I always put a magazine... sometimes a little goody for {us} ;) and just try to make it as fun as I can.

I have absolutely NO ideas for hubby. I had one (a watch) and his parents gave him one while they were here.

Maybe I will steal your short but sweet list.

Stockings...ALWAYS!! For the older boys, I do McD bucks and Sonic food cards, as well as Blockbuster gift cards for movie and game rentals, Axe because it is the only thing they wear, and chocolate covered cherries...their favorites!!

For the younger children...DVDs, board books, jewelry from the $ spot at Target (for the girls), candy, and new toothbrushes!!

For my husband...usually something computer related...flashdrives, CD-RW, cologne, and candy...although I LOVE chocolate covered coffee beans too...so maybe some of these this year!!

Oh and of course everyone gets the LifeSavers candyBook!!

Hope your Thanksgiving was awesome!!
