David Garrett: Rock Symphonies CD Review

I grew up listening to Nirvana, Guns 'N Roses and so many other alternative and rock bands. I remember wearing the plaid flannel shirts and Birkenstock sandals with white socks...ah, the memories. When I first heard of David Garrett and his Rock Symphonies CD I was intrigued and definitely interested in reviewing it.

David Garrett combines two of his favorite loves in life--classical music and rock music from his generation on his newest music venture. He makes the songs his own by adding in his amazing violin skills. Being a child prodigy he has been playing music for the world since he was a young boy. He was named best-selling classical music artist of 2009 with his debut album staying on the Classical Crossover Charts at #1 for 31 straight weeks.

His concerts have been sold-out around the world and after listening to Rock Symphonies, I can see how. The music is amazing--I played the violin from 5th-7th grade and still to this day I love to listen to talented musicians play. David Garrett? Totally talented and amazing. He plays with such a passion that totally comes through in this album. His renditions of the rock songs are fantastic. If you're a fan of Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Nirvana, Guns 'N Roses--check out his album--I think you'll like it!

Michael Bolton: One World One Love

 What do you think of when you think of Michael Bolton? If you're already thinking that he isn't your genre of music, let me tell you about his newest CD One World One Love. I remember hearing when this CD was in the works that he was working with Lady Gaga--and I had to reread it a few times. Lady Gaga? Michael Bolton? How would that even work?


I have to tell you--it works. Right when I popped in his new CD I loved it. I told Leo after just hearing a minute of his first song on the CD, Ready for You, that I loved it already. He looked at me and asked if I should listen to the entire thing before I jump in and say that. I told him I planned on listening to more, but I was already in love with the first song that I heard--which is huge to me! I finished the CD and like I had already told my husband, it was nothing but amazingness...loved it.

Michael Bolton is an extremely talented musician--having sold more than 53 million albums and is a two-time Grammy winning artist. He has collaborated with artists such as Ray Charles, Barbara Streisand and Lady Gaga. He is amazing--and I have a feeling a lot of you will be loving his brand new CD! He will touring the world until September 2010 with stops in Europe and the US. If you are lucky enough to have him coming close to where you live, I recommend that you go and watch him--and then you have to tell me all about it!

Michael Buble {CD Review}

I remember the first time I heard Michael Buble's voice.

Can you say romantic?

And when I saw him for the first time? That may have caused me to have quite the celebrity crush on Michael Buble himself.

I had the amazing opportunity to review his new album Crazy Love thanks to One2One Network.

And let me tell you...I really enjoyed his new cd. You know how sometimes it's hard to decide if you will like a cd or not before you hear the first released single on the radio? Not here. I listened to it entirely through as I was online and loved it!

Harry Connick, Jr. Just saying his name makes me think romantic dinners, candlelight, and happiness. As long as I can remember I've been a fan of him, his music and his charm! When One2One Network asked if I would like to review his newest music collection, Your Songs, I jumped at the chance!

I popped the cd into the laptop and right away I was in love. With classics such as Just the Way You Are and Can't Help Falling in Love With You, I knew this would be a cd to listen to when the days of being stressed out start to wear me thin.

Diane Birch CD {Review}

Recently I was lucky enough to review the much anticipated cd of Diane Birch (titled Bible Belt) courtesy of One 2 One Network.

I had never heard of Diane Birch before they contacted me to see if I would be interested in doing a music review so I headed over to her MySpace page. She did not disappoint!

Her music is so soothing, soulful and just made me feel good. It's definitely a cd I would listen to if I was having a stressful day or out driving with Isabella. It's so hard to find cd's that the entire family can enjoy and I would have to say that "Bible Belt" is a cd for the entire family.

Here's a short bio that I recieved from her official site:

Since she was seven, Birch had been studying piano via the learn-by-ear Suzuki Method and had cultivated the ability to replicate a melody upon hearing it. As she explains, “Ever since I was a kid, I have been incredibly fortunate in that I could hear something and then just play it.”

When she was old enough to live on her own, Birch moved to L.A., with the notion of becoming a film composer: To make ends meet, she quickly learned a standards repertoire and pursued work as pianist-for-hire, eventually landing regular gigs at the Beverly Hills Hotel and L’Orangerie. Prince once saw her play and invited her out to jam with him and his band at his home – an invitation she duly accepted.

Up until this point, Birch had always seen herself as a pianist and hadn’t tried to sing until a friend cajoled her into taking a class. In order to have something to perform there, Birch wrote an original song, which her new classmates immediately loved. So she wrote another for the next class, then another after that; thus she became a genuine singer-songwriter.
