Finding Bliss by Dina Silver

Once upon a time I was introduced to an author by the name of Dina Silver. I fell in love with her her books after reading One Pink Line followed by Kat Fight. Some may call her writing style chick lit.

I? Say her style is kick-ass.

I had the pleasure of receiving an advanced copy of her newest (and I must add my favorite) novel Finding Bliss.

Chloe Carlyle has always longed for the perfect family.

My Thoughts:

As I claimed above, Finding Bliss is my new favorite Dina Silver novel. Chloe was lovable and while reading I saw myself as her. We all had the good looking guy in high school or college that we thought would never give us a second glance. It was fun to read Tyler and Chloe's journey from the beginning to the end.

There were moments in the book that broke my heart, and moments in the book that gave me butterflies. If you are looking for a book to toss in your beach bag as you head to the beach or the local pool, I highly recommend you giving Finding Bliss a chance. Between the romance and the flawless writing style of Dina Silver, you will finish the book wanting more and hoping your girlfriends read it so you can have a fun night of wine drinking and talking about the book.

I am giving Finding Bliss five out of five stars--no surprise there!

Kat Fight by Dina Silver {Book Review}

There are often times when I feel connected with an author. Whether by their writing style, the characters that they develop, or if it is a connection with the actual author herself, there are some out there that you can feel connected to. Enter Dina Silver, one of my favorite authors that I have had the pleasure of reading. I was introduced to Dina's literary world a few months ago and knew right when I read her first book, One Pink Line, that she would be an author that I could declare a favorite. I recently finished Kat Fight, her latest novel, and fell in love all over again. 

About the Book

Meet Kat Porter. Kat has finally had enough with her long term boyfriend, Marc. Together for four years she has finally had enough. Too many late nights of being alone, too many unanswered phone calls. When Kat gives him the ultimate ultimatum of staying with her, the only thing that Kat receives from Marc is silence. No phone calls, no attempts to contact her. 
Kat's best friend, Julie,  decides that it is time to set Kat up on a blind date. While her actual date didn't send her the chemistry that she desired, one person did: Ryan (aka Julie's date). Ryan is everything that Kat has ever wanted in a husband. The passion they feel is unbelievable, he honestly takes her breath away. But can Kat be with Ryan and not hurt Julie? Can Kat leave Ryan for the sake of her friendship with Julie?

Book Excerpt
There I was, all dressed in white, with a soft veil loosely brushing against the skin on my face, feeling blissful and resplendent. I wore a strapless satin sheath and in my hands was a bouquet of dark red roses. I started walking slowly towards my groom standing curiously far away from me at the end of the aisle. So far away, in fact, that I was having a difficult time focusing on his face. The more I walked the further he seemed. 

My Thoughts
It's no secret that I am already a huge fan of Dina Silver. She absolutely nailed Kat Fight and had me turning page after page. I felt as if I couldn't possibly read fast enough. I wanted to know that Kat would find true love, I wanted to know how the story ended. She captivated my attention with her flawless writing and characters that seemed to be friends of mine in my life. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story and that loves to root on the main character. 

My Rating
Kat Fight definitely receives 5 out of 5 stars. A fabulous book to read into the night and definitely worth the sleep deprivation you will surely have.

Book Pick of the Week: One Pink Line

Summer time used to be about staying up late, lounging by the pool every day and being carefree. Now that I can't do that as much as I used to (you know, this whole being a grown up thing) I try to read as often as possible. It's my way of escaping reality for a bit.

I just finished reading One Pink Line by Dina Silver. One Pink Line was such a fun book to read. I immediately loved the main character, Sydney, who starts out the book by finding out that she is pregnant. She is nearly done with college, in love with a man that shows her what love truly is, and then she finds out that she is pregnant. Now she has the task of letting her family and the man that she loves know about her unplanned pregnancy. Will she lose the one man that has shown her what true love and compassion truly is?

The story is also narrated by another person, Grace. Grace is young and has grown up in a loving home, but she has yet to meet her "real" father. She loves her stepfather, but to her it's not her "real" father. What is he like? Why hasn't he ever met her? Why is she different? These questions will follow her until she gets the answers that she is looking for.

One Pink Line was written beautifully. It was easy to follow, easy to read, and easy to fall in love with. Dina Silver has a talent for writing and I cannot wait to read her upcoming novel. If you are looking for a fun book to lose yourself in this spring and summer I recommend that you pick up One Pink Line. 


Final Word: Read it. Love it. Have a glass of wine, curl up and enjoy.

About the author: Dina Silver is a graduate from Purdue University. She has spent the past 15 years feeding her red wine habit by working as a copywriter in the advertising industry. In addition to writing ad copy, she formed Dina's Ideas, a greeting card company, in 2003. Dina serves as the sole writer and designer for the business and has penned over 300 greeting cards since its inception.
