Leaving. Going. Gone.

Leo will be leaving within the next few days.

He will be going to Haiti.

Please keep Haiti in your prayers.

For those who did not survive.

For the injured.

For the ones who lost everything.

For our volunteers doing everything in their power to help.

For our military men and women.

For the families of our military men and women.

For me and my girls.

I don't know how long he will be gone.

It could be weeks.

It could be months.

I've never been so proud of my husband as I am right now.

But at the same time my heart is hurting.

I'm going to miss my best friend while he's over there being a hero.

Thank you, Leo.

Thank you to everyone who is sacrificing to help.

My love and prayers are with you all.

Is it Friday Yet?

Leo is now on a plane to Florida for a work conference....and we miss him tremendously already.

As he was kissing Isabella bye at the airport she started crying. With big, big tears.

Which broke my heart. And broke her daddy's heart.

I told her when we got home I would make her some cookies, which I did and that seemed to cheer her up quite a bit! Warm cookies straight from the oven tend to make everything better, don't they?

Tomorrow we have to run to base to get my iron pills and then I was thinking Starbucks and Hobby Lobby.

Because those two things always cheer us up. Me with an iced non-fat caramel macchiato no whip and Isabella a sugar cookie with sprinkles....yum! Then off to wander the endless aisles at Hobby Lobby.

With drink and cookie in tow.

A Story of the Death of a Lens

I'm always a firm believer of good news first. So here I go.

The good news for my week? Isabella has been so happy lately!

For the past, oh, shall I say two weeks, she has been grumpy. Grouchy. Lots of tears. Lots of unhappiness.

That was hard for me. I just didn't know what to do. I tried everything that I could think of and nothing worked.

So this week was much, much better!

Now on to some bad news that we all could have done without.

A lot of you asked about my camera lens....oh-how-I-cringe just thinking about it....

Basically, it was put somewhere it should not have been *ahem cough Leo*.

Isabella saw the pretty strap and pulled it down where it met its fate by landing lens down.

It was still working, but wasn't turning to focus as smoothly. I figured, hey, I can hold out 'til Christmas....but Leo had other plans.

He tried to inspect it, mess with it, whatever. And he freaking broke it!

Ahhhh! I was so upset....am upset, whatever....

So, that's the story of the death of my lens.

Which for good measure? I am still grieving and mourning until I have a working lens...
