The One Where You Laugh...At Me...A Lot...

Ever since the bisexual post yesterday it got me thinking of all the not so bright moments in my life. I admit it--when it came to street smarts I was a bit naive...

I think I was in high school for this one. Which makes it even more embarrassing--the fact that I had gone years thinking this? *Groan*

There I was. Watching the news and there was a story of a body that was found. I looked up and listened to what the reporter had to say when I heard it.

"The body of Jane Doe...."

I stopped what I was doing and yelled out to my mom.

"They found another one? OhmyGod!"

She asked me what was going on.

"The found another girl--and guess what her name was?"

She asked me and was probably wondering where I was going with this.

"Her name was Jane Doe. I am SO glad that wasn't my name--they are always finding girls named Jane Doe!!"

It was then that my mom explained to me--while laughing so hard--that Jane Doe? Was a name for unidentified bodies.

I was a little annoyed that nobody had taught me this...seriously--how was I supposed to know?!

Have you ever had one of those moments? Please tell me I'm not the only one that's had a ditzy moment...

I have done so many things like this! I went my whole life thinking colonel (pronounced kernal) actually sounds like it's spelled.

I also realized like two weeks ago that our cell phone company is t-mobile..not teen mobile...I always thought they were saying "teen" and that that's what the "t" stood for. It was embarrassing!

And when I was a teen I would have thought the same thing about Jane Doe.

If it makes you feel any better, the other day we were driving and Sparky asked wy they let blind people drive... Do they have special cars or something, and how do they find the signs to know where it's safe to drive? We were perplexed and assured her that no, blind people can not drive, but she persisted... Until the way home she pointed and said "see there is one of their signs... "Caution Blind Drive Ahead"... Poor girl, her parents laughed so hard we almost had to pull over...

I know I've had moments like these, but I must be blocking the painful memories at the moment...

Okay, this might make you feel better... I used to hear about people being shot at "Point Blank Range". So naturally I wondered (aloud, much to my family's amusement) WHY DID PEOPLE KEEP GOING TO POINT BLANK RANGE?!? *blush*

Don't feel bad, that's totally something my spastic brain would say as well. I grew up with a lot of book smarts, but zero street smarts. LOL

I've had plenty of "ditzy" moments, unfortunately no specific ones come to mind right now. It usually involves not getting a joke.

I sure hope no one has every REALLY named their daughter Jane Doe. ;)

*lol* This (and the day befores post) reminded me of a scene from "Friends" when Monica is dating a really young guy and he said he thought that "Gunpoint" was a town and why would people want to go there? *lol* You made me laugh so hard today!

No worries, I have etons of blonde moments too :) I think it's normal.
