The One Where I Start Over.
Many years ago I found something called Google Reader. This was a wonderful new thing in my life. I no longer had to bookmark my favorite blogs. I could go to one site and BAM! Here they all were. All lined up in a row.
Then I discovered blog reviews and giveaways. Holy moly. You mean I can win swag from sites?! The first time that I won something I thought I would hyperventilate. I was stoked to say the least.
I started following and subscribing my little heart out.
Soon my beloved Google Reader became beloved no more. It was more of a hassle to weed through the weeds to get to my favorite blogs. I haven't checked my Reader in, oh, months.
That all changed.
Tonight.
I deleted ALL subscriptions in my Reader.
I am officially starting over on my Reader. My priorities. Where I want to spend my time. Time is so, so valuable to me...perhaps because I rarely have any to myself? Anyway, I am done with trying to win things from blogs. I want to read blogs for the reason that I wanted to in the beginning: inspiration.
So. Here I am. A Reader down to nothing. Here is where I want and need your help.
Who are your favorite bloggers? I want to fill my time with my favorite bloggers from my past, the ones I have read for years, and the ones who I am friends with on Facebook.
I heart you all, and cannot wait to tell you something exciting and adventurous that I am about to embark on (I am super nervous, excited, butterflies have invaded my stomach). So, my loyal readers, here is to new beginnings.

so proud of you friend. and so very excited to hear about your big new adventure!!
xoxo
I did the same when I started fresh with a new blog. It's such a free feeling.
I haven't used my reader in forever. I found that I didn't comment because I wasn't going to the blog itself~! It is so refreshing to not have to keep up with the status quo! I also feel the same about my google friend connect! I'm about to delete that as well cause it's not about followers to me, its about me!
Ok, not that I don't love followers, I do. I just don't want to be defined by the waiting to get a new one process!
Good idea!! I should really do this... my reader is so overwhelming and I subscribe to so many I shouldn't. Maybe you've inspired me!!
I did the same thing last month with Google Reader and it was a freeing moment. I find I'm more likely to follow over to the blog and leave a comment since I have less to read and a specific purpose in my reading. If I'm in a rush now, and I know I really want/need to leave a comment, I star it and leave a comment later in the evening whe thing slow down. I've not used Google Friends - will have to check it out. Loving GR again, not dreading.
I have so many so if you are inclinded just pop over to my place and check out my sidebar. Most of them are on there.
Excited to hear your news, too! :)
I always feel like a good purge is good every now and then! I am mostly reading homeschooling blogs now.. but with some of my favorites (like you) who are not homeschool bloggers :-)
We change and what we like changes, right? So totally makes sense. I've tried to get rid of some, but those ones that you follow via GFC, nearly impossible. I delete, I unfollow, everything and they keep coming back!
