On Sunday I decided I was going to channel my inner Martha Stewart and finish some craft projects. I made a few hairbows for Isabella (I need to take some pics--I love how they turned out!) and I put the finishing touches on a canvas letter "i" that I had painted for my girl.
Things were going great...rolling along....and then disaster.
I was hot gluing--and let me tell you this stuff was no joke. I'm honestly surprised it wasn't boiling out of the gun--some ribbon on the border of the canvas.
And then it happened.
I hot glued my finger!!! I have no idea how....one minute I was a crafting fool and the next? I was a screaming mess.
Holy crap. It. was. painful!!
As I was trying to get it off of my finger I didn't realize just how much glue was actually on my finger.
And when I pulled? I managed to take off some skin.
Lovely. I think I'll lay off the crafts for awhile...no wonder I hadn't done any for so long....

Yikes!!! I'm pretty much avoid glue guns all together, especially after hearing a story like that. Sorry about your finger. :(
OUCH! I have gotten hot glue under my finger nail before and boy does that hurt.
Been there done that with the hot glue gun!! Crafting is dangerous work I tell ya! What we will do for our daughters, hey!
Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog. I just started sewing. I am learning as I go. Pins are my new hot glue gun, I am always poking myself! I have taught myself mostly and am at times pulling out my hair and cussing at the patterns but it always seems to turn out in the end. I think you should give it a try you might surprise yourself!! :)

I did eactly the same thing about a month ago, man that hurts. Now I remember why I haven't used my gluegun since....well....I think since I bought it.
