Yeah...this? Sucks.

Haha...I look so pathetic, right?

I got this rash on my face when I was ~3 months pregnant with my Madelyn.

It wasn't near as bad and my ob team couldn't figure out what it was....

I tried so many different things--and then discovered that my eczema steroid ointment would work.

Until I stopped it and the redness would just keep getting worse.  So I would put more on...

I told Leo if it hadn't cleared up 3 months after I had Maddie that I would see my doctor (I also thought

maybe it was hormonal?).

Well, it didn't clear up. Obviously.

Go to the doctor and she is stumped.  I told her about my bff--Dr. Google (or Dr. Swagbucks...)

The only thing that I found that remotely matched my description?

Perioral dermatitis.

Basically?  It sucks.

They are unsure of how it starts...but topical steroids are believed to be the cause--it probably

all started from me rubbing an itch on my face with eczema ointment on.

Ugh!  I am now on an oral antibiotic used for acne (amongst other things) for a month.

Have to go back in three weeks for a follow up and decide if I need to see

Dermatology or not.

I didn't even want to show this pic--I usually put so much makeup over it to hide the hideousness

which is my face.  (Don't believe me?  Anyone that I spoke with today just stared at me like I had something

foreign growing off of my face. Or bluntly asked me what was all over my face. Idiots.)

And that's why I always remember what my mom taught me at a young age...

"It's not polite to stare".

It looks like a burn or something but it's certainly not stare worthy. People need to get a life. I hope it clears up for ya soon.

so sorry! It doesn't look as bad as you're describing! I know it feels horrible. For the last few months, I've had a horrible rash on my forehead too. Matter of fact, one evening when most of my makeup had worn off, I saw my dad, and he said, "What happened to your face??" He thought I ran into a wall or something, lol.

I started putting Neosporin on it every night, and it's completely gone. If I skip a night, it starts to come back. But the neosporin has worked for me!! Maybe you could try that or vaseline. I've done both.

Hope it clears up soon. I had something similar when I was pregnant with my daughter, but it was all over my back. My doctor though it was PUPPS rash (or something) but then it didn't go away. Til 8 months after I had her. Ugh. I used Neosporin and it finally helped it fade.
Good luck!

Oh no. Sorry about that. I hope it clears up soon. And couldn't hurt trying the neosporin. Also, I agree with Amber, it doesn't look as bad as you say. (((hugs)))

Oh sweetie! You by NO MEANS look pathetic! I feel so so bad for you. Unfortunately I am all too familiar with "the-rude-people-that-stare" I have awful eczema and it has been getting worse and worse lately. I can't believe you posted this b/c i almost posted about my annoying rash too. I feel for you so much! It is so annoying to have a rash and not be able to get rid of it, let alone find out what exactly is causing it. I have been on google myself like crazy trying to "self diagnose" which just ends up scaring the crap out me! I really hope that you figure out what is going and and get some relief soon! lots o' hugs---dont worry eczema is not contagious! xo

Chelle, I was going to post something about the four pimples I have on my chin area - but I chickened out.

You are cool, girl!

Hopefully you will get some answers by posting this too.

Just wanted you to know, I feel your pain.

Could it be stress-related? After I had my first, which was right after we got custody of 2 teenagers...then my MIL moved in with us, I had SEVERAL red rashes all over my body and face. I never had Eczema or allergies so we weren't sure WHAT it was. Went to a dermatologist and he told me it stress induced Eczema, he gave me some topical and it slowly went away. Sometimes we don't feel stressed until AFTER the crisis is over...and sometimes it is just a subtle build. Maybe if it is stress-related for you and you become more aware of it...it will start to go away on its own....or you can always DRINK MORE WINE!!! HA! :D Feel better girl!!

That really sucks girl!!

I feel for ya! I have such issues when it comes to anything on the skin. Sophia currently has a rash on one side of her arm and we had to go to the dermatologist for it. Of course its some rare, nothing you can do about it kinda thing and she will "hopefully" outgrow it...yuck!

Hopefully, it will go away for you with the medication and all. Be thankful that you dont have my old lady acne!! I never had bad skin before until i turned 30 and everything has gone down hill....:(

PLUS, you still look beautiful!

Is it itchy? I hope not cuz that would probably drive me nutty too. I think it's great of you to post that, and you may help others along the way who have something similar right?!

How frustrating. I'm sorry, Chelle. I hope this new stuff works. I get fever blisters from time to time and I feel the same way when I have to go out in public with one protruding off of my lip - like everyone is staring at me. ugh!
